Youth Travel Programmes

The WJCB supports a suite of travel programmes for young people involved with, or interested in, the Jersey breed.  The programmes available are:

1) The Jersey Educational Travel Award (JETA):  Details of which can be found on the dedicated page on this website.

2) The Jersey Scholarship Travel Award:  This is a direct grant payable towards the travel expenses of people between the ages of 25 and 40 years who wish to travel to undertake a specific piece of research relating to the Jersey breed and is conditional on support from the member national association and a report on the findings being supplied to the WJCB for publication.

3) The WJCB Agriventure Jersey Youth Travel Scheme:  This is a programme run by Agriventure in association with the WJCB to tailor their travel oppoertunities to enable young people to stay on host farms with Jersey cattle.  Details of this scheme can be found from Agriventure directly: at the following web address http://www.agriventure.com/

An example of the experiences that are available is the account written by Tahnee King from Australia of her time spent in Canada in 2009.  The article appears in the Australian Jersey Breeders Journal and our thanks to them for allowing us to reproduce it here.
