Welcome to the World Jersey Cattle Bureau
AWARDS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE WORLD JERSEY CATTLE BUREAU
DISTINGUISHED ACHEIVEMENT AWARD
This award is the highest honour that the Council can bestow on an individual, or an organisation, and recognises those that have made an outstanding contribution to the breeding, development or promotion of the Jersey breed, or its products, at an international level.
Recipients will have truly set themselves apart by their actions and successes either in immediate influence or over a period of many years. The award is made at a meeting of the Bureau held in conjunction with an international conference and there is no restriction on the number of recipients, although it is an elite award.
Nominations can only be made by Full National Members of the Bureau, and must be seconded by either a Full National Member or a National Associate Member of the Bureau. The Officers of the Bureau form the selection committee to consider nominations received.
MERITORIOUS ACHEIVEMENT AWARD
This award recognises individuals who have provided long and effective service to the World Jersey Cattle Bureau in pursuance of its objects.
Recipients must be Life Members of the Bureau who will have achieved success, for example in the promotion of the Bureau, support through the raising of funds or sponsorship for the Bureau, attendance and leadership at Bureau Council Meetings and associated programmes or service as a member of the Bureau Council or other position. The award is made at the annual meeting of the Council.
Nominations can be made by any National Member or the Bureau Council without the need for anyone to second the nomination. The Officers of the Bureau form the selection committee to consider nominations received.
CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
This award recognises individuals who have demonstrated a positive influence on the Jersey breed in their own country through their consistent and long term efforts.
Recipients may or may not be Life Members of the Bureau and will usually be recognised through domestic national awards programs. The Bureau award is meant to compliment that process and may be made at any time.
Nominations will be made by any National Member without the need for anyone to second the nomination. The Officers of the Bureau form the selection committee to consider nominations received and will encourage member countries to submit nominations and may ask that presentation is arranged by the National Member at a suitable occasion.
