WJCB secretary elected chairman of the British Cattle Breeders Club
At the recent annual Conference and AGM of the British Cattle Breeders’ Club Roger
Trewhella was elected chairman for 2015.
The Cattle Breeders Club was founded in 1946 at Cambridge University by Sir
John Hammond – a pioneer of artificial insemination in the cattle industry. The Club
links practical cattle breeding with science.
Almost 300 delegates attended January’s Conference where speakers from
Australia, the USA and Ireland as well farmers, researchers, agri-politicians and
business leaders from the UK presented papers.
Roger Trewhella has worked in the cattle industry for his entire career. Born
on a family farm near Falmouth, Roger is a Nuffield Scholar and is a director of
Adela Booth Associates, the company which was awarded the secretariat of WJCB at
the South Africa Conference. ABA also holds the UK distribution agency for Viking
Genetics along with a number of industry related services.
